For the ultimate classic Macross fan, Macross: The Complete Collectionrevisits the saga of the great super-dimensional fortress and its battle with human-like giants. There are songs sung by Lynn Minmay that are both upbeat--like "Zero-G Love" and "My Boyfriend's a Pilot"--and sorrowful. Also, what CD would be complete without the famous "Do You Remember Love?" battle song? The songs are beautifully sung, ballads to an era long lost, but bringing back memories of what once was.

The Complete is easily the best collection of music available for the original series. Disk 1 features music from the original TV series, the vocals as well as a rather extensive BGM collection. One of my favorite background music themes is Track 11 (Dog Fight), which is used for most of the fight scenes and is the first mission song used in the first Macross VFX game. Disk 2 doesn't have as many vocals but it has the music used in the Macross movie "Love: Do you Remember?" (or "Macross: Clash of the Bionoids" here in the US). Mari Iijima' s (Minmei) voice is full of magic and charisma that you literally lose yourself in her voice. Track 5 - Ai oboete imasu ka or Track 14 - Tenchi no enogu will make you a believer. To make up for the lack of vocals there is something really cool about this CD. If you like to sing along, there are karaoke versions of all of the vocals that are on the first two disks. Disk 3 to me is the best though. It contains a series of songs from Minmei's farewell concert in Flashback 2012 and remixes to many of her earlier songs. Not only that, you also get two versions of "Runner" (the ending theme to Macross). One of them is a solo sung by Minmei. The other is a duet featuring the original singer and Minmei. All in all this set is a must have for Macross fans. No, anyone who loves anime music
