When I first saw this book at a friend's house, it looked like just another magic-girl-saves-world story, but nevertheless I reas the first few pages, and right from there I knew I was wrong. Tatara is the prohesized "child of destiny" who will liberate Japan (the story takes place is post-apocolyptical Japan), however his twin sister Sarasa feels unimportant, like she's "just scraps" That all changes when Tatara is killed and she must take his place. Basara is a shojo masterpiece, and more then just a story about love or saving the world. Villains and heros are put on the same level and everyone has a story. This book is most assuardely worth the read.
