Neo.A.D.202, Earth was overtaken by malevolent alien life forms. The last remnants of humankind barely survived by retreating into undersea colonies. One hundred years later, the survivors prepare to retake earth in a desperate bid for a brighter tomorrow. To this end, the mysterious Angels Project fields a special team of cybernetically enhanced soldiers. The motherly Midi, the spirited Voogie, the hard-hitting Rebecca, the innocent Merrybell, and the pensive Shiori make up the Voogie's Angel team. Each is the victim of a tragic past during the time of the alien invasions, and each has been reborn to fight for the future of humanity. Now, loaded down with the most advanced weapons and an autonomously intelligent warship known as Strikemyer, Voogie's angel is prepared to engage the alien occupation force!

When I first saw this preview on one of my volumes of Rayearth 2, I kinda thinked about buying this one. When I bought it at Nekocon 6, I started watching this one. It was pretty cool, the Angels were strong cyborg warriors. My two favorite angels are Shiori, and the innocent Merrybell. My favorite funny part is when Merrybell pulled the Pin out of the grenade and exploded in front of her and Rebecca. I also like the Strikemyer because he is funny. He saids:"Voogie, when the time comes, we will die together. I also like when he said:"Gotcha babe. So if you like one, then buy it. You will see what I mean. Ciao

Voogie's Angel is a difficult DVD to review. It starts out really slow, but picks up at the end and kind of makes you glad you watched it to the end. If all of the episodes were like number 3 I would have given this another star. Some of the angels I cared for and some I did not. Voogie was cool, and her sword was bad ass. Rebecca was a good character, but needed to use her big gun instead of just holding it in the opening credits. Shiori was okay as well, but the rest I could do without. Like I said, this DVD does not get interesting until the third episode, so if you have the patience, I suggest watching it. It's also pretty corny at first, but gets more serious at the end. So there you have it, if you like this kind of anime, it will tide you over, but it will probably never be one of your favorites.
