Cou, the bumbling rookie of the "Red Lynx" sky pirate squadron, has just discovered the treasure of a lifetime - a mighty member of the ancient race of Edel Raids. Ren, at first glance, seems to be a shy and defenseless girl, but she holds within her a power that many are willing to kill for. I loved the series, but I was disappointed when I saw the changes that were made in the English Dub. Coud was changed to Cou, Eden Raid was changed to Edel Raid, etc. This kind of made the plot not match up because the "Garden of Eden" now "Edel Garden," ruled by Eve, wasn't matching up to the Christian story anymore; which I thought was supposed to be a major aspect. None the less, Elemental Gelade was a great series which I'd recommend to just about anyone.

I was pleased to see this series finally released in the states. Elemental Gelade is a fun action-fantasy that has enjoyable characters and a decent(if not entirely original) plotline. It centers around Cou, an air pirate who stumbles across a girl named Ren hybernating inside a crypt. When she awakens, she quickly becomes the target of bandits and other shady characters. Cou takes on the task of protecting Ren as she begins a journey for a lost continent. The series is enjoyable, and is nicely animated. Definitely worth a look.
